What are you doing?!! Plus a few nice decisions

With the new rule of being able to declare without hiring an agent and still return to school it is a little different. However a number of players have still declared. Here are my suggestions to players on if they have made the right decision and what I would do. Which of course doesn't mean a lot as I don't know their personal situations but it is called Daniel's thoughts for a reason. Please realize very few players have announced that they are staying. One more note I will only be talking about Kentucky players I actually think are declaring and could leave because every Kentucky player declared for the draft which honestly is a really smart move. Any player with a NBA chance should declare just for the learning experience.
List 1 I really like your decision

  • Kris Dunn PG Providence: This is kind of like Marcus Smart was a few years ago. He stayed an extra year but now it is harder to get much higher. The thing that makes Marcus Smart and Kris Dunn similar? They are both guards, guards are usually not drafted 1st or 2nd in deep drafts (I know Ohio State's D'angelo Russell was drafted 2nd last year) but anyway very smart move.
  • Brandon Ingram and Ben Simmons Forwards for Duke and LSU: They two were obvious. While Simmons did not win he still won't go much higher. Ingram has really emerged as 2 things: A top star, and a class act.
  • Grayson Allen G Duke Staying: Duke's other star I also love their decision. First of all Duke will still be good next year. But more importantly he has a bad reputation due to some on court incidences this year. While to me they are not big deals, he is not a top pick anyway and people love reasons not to draft players because there are so many good options.
  • Henry Ellenson PF/C Marquette: I was so impressed the few times I watched him play. He played like an 8th year senior. Also so composed and mature. Now he is not as athletic as some people but in a way it gives him a bigger reason to declare because he will not be drafted higher next year just based on potential.
  • Dwayne Bacon F Florida State Staying: The only other guy who has declared he is staying I like this simply because he is not a top pick at the moment.
  • Ivan Rabb and Jaylen Brown Forwards for California: This was just expected and it makes sense
Others that make sense: Utah's Jakob Poeltl, Gonzaga's Domantas Sabonis
I like and don't like their decisions at the same time

  •  Wayne Selden Guard Kansas: He has a lot of work to do still. However, he waited 3 years and so I understand it. Remember he played with Andrew Wiggins. People thought he would be a one and done.
  • Tyle Ulis and Skal Labissiere Guard and Forward/ Center for Kentucky: These two are for the completely opposite reasons. Labissiere will be a top pick probably but he shouldn't be. Also by the end of the year he started to look good so with lower expectations next year he could be really good. Ulis has proven it and as someone who is like my size I love that he declared for the draft. He deserves it I would draft him, but he won't be that high due to his size.
  • Deyonta Davis: He could be drafted but next year he will be a star.
What are you thinking!: There is really one guy that is so obvious although there are others
  • Robert Carter Maryland: While this make sense because he has been in college a bunch of years he still can improve. However compared to the other player on this list this decision is great
  • Damian Jones Vanderbilt Center: I like that he kept his word (before the year he said that he would declare) but he isn't ready. His teammate Wayne Baldwin might not be ready either but he has denied it
  • Caleb Swanigan C/PF Purdue: Look his stats are decent but he isn't ready. Next year he would be Purdue's number one go to guy and this year he didn't step up enough in big games
Before I go on there are actually 3 Big Ten athletic freshman big men that all have interesting decisions: Davis, Swanigan and Maryland's Diamond Stone
Okay this next group I did not see there decisions but here are my opinions
Please don't leave
Cat Barber G NC State, Devin Williams Center West Virginia, Devonte Graham Guard Kansas, Kris Jenkins Forward Villanova, Carlton Bragg Forward Kansas, most Kentucky players, most UNC players, Melo Trimble Guard Maryland, Tyler Lydon Forward Syracuse, Nigel Hayes Forward Wisconsin and Isaiah Taylor Guard Texas
I hope you enjoy this
