Hi everybody this is for any parent or friend or family member who has someone with mental illness.
You can pay for every appointment, give every gift and brag about how much you help with money. That doesn't mean that you are being that helpful. It will NEVER EVER replace emotional support that people so desperately need.
This blog is to spread mental health awareness through creativity and to show people that they don't have to be perfect. So I hope this makes a positive impact on people. I will also be posting my drawings here

I also went to a baseball game and got some autographs on some of my art

Thing of The Day: I am just in a mood
I just want to reiterate from my article yesterday. Anything can be done with passion and especially if you have something like BPD don't be afraid to put your emotion in what you do. Hey that means you are using your emotions in a positive way. Have a great first day of summer

How Having BPD Benefits My Art
So I was watching something, it was somebody singing and I could just see the emotion in his eyes. I feel that is like me with my art.
So just for people who are reading this for the first time the biggest thing with Borderline Personality Disorder is everything has an emotion. I feel that way when I do art.
I put as much as I can into every drawing. Maybe not thinking slow but it is all me.
The drawings have character you can see it here is an example

So I did this in my art class. Everybody else's looked very polished. Then there is mine. You can see obvious things: The background is very day, I missed a few sports and very little bit of the bottom is actually white.
But I can honestly say that it is me. I put all my heart into it. Most of the marks are not gentle. We did a critique and my professor said what do you think of your drawing and you have to understand to me a lot of the other drawings looked like they could be in books and then there is mine. I said I feel like I was a bull in a China shop. While I don't think it was taken this way I didn't mean it to be bad. It is truly me.
This is true with all my drawings, paintings and art pieces. They are not perfect (hence the name of this blog the imperfect artist). But I can truly say they are me.
It happened again this week. My professor said for the project I should take my glasses off and I said professor that is not me.
Still life drawing is supposed to be so objective and exact. Well not for me. I put all my emotion into it. That won't change.
I think my mental health has a bunch to do with this. My piece doesn't have to be perfect and I don't want it to be. Every piece I do shows how far I have come.

Thing of The Day: Having Fun
Things, this blog included, are always so serious. So today on a Saturday, watch a game or a TV show, do a project, go and take a walk. Skills are great but sometimes the best remedy is to just have fun and not worry about anything. I know that this is easier said than done

Some art, thoughts and what I have been up to
Hi everybody. So this is one of the more important articles that I have done in a while
So the reason I haven't been posting as much (as well as some of my drawings not looking as good) is because I am taking a drawing class. It is just drawing 1.
It is 4 hours. The longest class I have had before this is an hour and 15 minutes. After the first day I wanted to quit. I also found out the class was mostly still life drawings.
But things take time. I am getting better with the length. We have been doing a drawing project in class and this is what I have drawn (there are yams and garlic)
I was also learning how to use different materials on this. I used graphite sticks on the first yam, vine charcoal on the third, and charcoal in the middle.
So today we did a critiquing session. I picked the garlic drawing as the one to show to the class. Everybody else's drawing looked so much more refined. To me mine looked like a bull in a China shop.
But when we got to mine I got a pleasant surprise. I was told how good my drawing was. The sizing was near perfect and while the drawing was different than most of the other ones it truly showed me and it had character.
A lot of the difference were due to mental stuff. I draw with emotion but more than that I am impulsive and have a fast brain. Therefore, especially with the unforgiving charcoal I wasn't sure if the drawings looked good. But, they did.
So the point I am trying to make is remember, whether you have mental illness or not but especially if you do, that being different does not mean being bad. It might just be your style and don't change your way just to make it like everybody else's. These drawings are very much me.
I would love to know what people think as these are really the first still-life drawings I have ever done.

Thing of The Day: My Project I have Been Working On
So I have been working on a mini canvas project. Everyone knows I love superheroes and really liked it. It is based on this promotional work

Okay there are going to be a lot of pictures just warning you and then some notes on the bottom. I was only going to do Black Panther but after the results I decided to do all 12 characters
Black Panther
Part of me wanted to do a Sharon Carter poster as well. But there was no match on the other side. Also she was not on the original poster.
I think for mental health it should be reminded that things don't have to be perfect and let your creative juices flower.
I have done lot of Captain America Civil War art. Don't expect that change. Anyway I hope you enjoy this

Black Panther
Scarlet Witch
Ant-man
Vision
Black Widow
Hawkeye
Winter Soldier
Falcon
War Machine
Iron Man
Captain America
Spiderman
Okay here are the face to face shots (I picked who looked at who but there was a reason)
Vision and Scarlet Witch
Black Panther and Scarlet Witch (these are just the first two I have drew)
Hawkeye and Black Widow
Bucky Barnes and Black Panther
Falcon and War Machine
Steve Rogers and Tony Stark
Antman and Spiderman
Okay and here is the full version I lined it up like a star
All of them
Some notes
This is the first time I have draw faces from a side-view
When these posters came out spiderman was not in them. So I made that one using others promo art. Also I realized I couldn't spell out his full names so I used webs to be like the name was falling and the webs are being used to keep them out
I was surprised by how good the vision came out. Obviously I didn't have the perfect color (as is true for many of them). This is true for other things too like Black Widow's hair
Their posters all of them say divided we fall. However on the big poster it says united we stand on team Roger's side. So I hope it gave some perspective
I know they don't all look perfect (specifically Iron Man looks more like Chuck Norris, Hawkeye like Peyton Manning and Ant-man like Bill Hader)
I think the three best were Vision, Falcon and Black Panther
I used gold for the star so you could see it but I obviously the stars are not perfect.Part of me wanted to do a Sharon Carter poster as well. But there was no match on the other side. Also she was not on the original poster.
I think for mental health it should be reminded that things don't have to be perfect and let your creative juices flower.
